Tracking Images-stepper drive


 
 

Here are some images I took with a customers SBIG-STV camera. They are only for an illustration on how well the systems can track an object, not photographic quality. This was done with a stepper drive many years ago. Other users with expensive cameras have taken very long exposures using the servo drive. Links to those will be posted soon. 

The easiest way to autoguide now is by using the ASCOM program. There are a lot of autoguiding programs that can use this function. PhD Autoguiding is one, it is free, and very simple to use. If you have a program like Maxim or something else, check it's software compatibility to see if it can utilize an ASCOM interface.

If you prefer using a hard wired solution, the Servo electronics have a wireless handpad that has an autoguider port built in. It will accept most typical autoguiders.
